Back to work

So here I am getting back to blogging since my sister started up a new one. Take a look here http://outandabout4life.blogspot.com/

I am currently working on a crochet baby hat, booties, mittens combo for a friend. Two actually! And it's a paid gig!

I will post my pattern here as soon as I have it perfected!

Right now I am only a few rounds into the hat. Also I am going to get back into cross stitch and on finishing some of WIP (works in progress) and UFO's (Unfinished objects). I have been kinda busy trying to get a business up and running. Right now I only have a facebook page but please check it out here https://www.facebook.com/ValeriesGiftsnThings

In the mean time Peace and Blessings!

It's summer time in Texas!

The sun is shining, the birds are singing, and my allergies are going haywire! LOL Been working hard on a couple of projects for my new business and finally did a few for myself.
This is mine but I am making one for a customer too. Selling them for $15.

Y'all have a beautiful weekend!

Slouchy Hat

I got this patter from Red Heart Yarns and it worked up in a couple of hours! I know the pic is dark but it is white. Hubby says I should do one in rainbow colors ala rastafarian! Mom wants one in pink as well! If you want the pattern it can be found here: http://www.redheart.com/free-patterns/casual-beret

Have a beautiful weekend!

Spring time!

Well it is Spring here in Texas and we have some GORGEOUS wildflowers!! I got to see the most bluebonnets I have ever seen in all my years of living in Texas! Of course I stopped and took pictures I just couldn't help myself. I couldn't get my kiddos to pose for me though. :(

We decided this year to not do the full garden thing but we did plant some tomatoes and peppers and they are loving the cool nights and warm days and are already producing some small tomatoes! This pic is about 2 weeks old and the plants have more than doubled in size.

We went to a local Easter event at our local Home Depot and they had a LifeCare helicopter, a fire truck and of course the "fire dog" as my youngest called him! Sparky was quite the draw for the 3 year old crowd, it was all Billy could talk about while we were there. LOL.

Working on several Spring projects and will post pics soon!

Peace and blessings!

I'm back!

I am so not into the new groove of things this year! Ok my current projects include one BAP, a silhouette that shouldn't take too long if I just work on it, crochet Minions from Despicable me (photo to follow), and more practicing on the knitting.

This is my BAP (Big A$$ Project for those that don't know) It is called "A Careful Stitch" and I actually have more done than in this photo but I haven't finished the next section of the pattern.

This is Minion number one. He is about 4 inches tall and went to a friend for his birthday. His wife liked it so much she wants me to make more for her kids for Christmas! Yay! But I will be making them bigger...

like this one! Had to come up with my own pattern, which my hubby thinks is cool.

I promise to try to keep up with postings! :D

Love and blessings to you all!

New Year's Resolutions

It has been quite some time since I posted on here and I think it is time to get back in the habit. Yes I finished the nativities for my sisters and I will post pics soon (they are on my hubby's computer) I got out of the habit of taking a pic for every stage... Anyway so everyone makes New Year's Resolutions and I do too. My first was to learn a new craft, knitting. So even before the old year was out I had bought a set of needles and a how too book and pretty much taught myself the basics, now it is on to following a pattern. I even had a good start on that (just a basic knit hat) when my 3 year old took it off the needles, unraveled a big part of it, then sat on it in a full Pull Up...UGH.

I cried.

I tried to get it back on the needles.

I tried to untangle the yarn.

It was an old skein of lavender colored worsted weight that I don't think was even mine to begin with (I inherit yarn and other things from people *shrug*) so I just tossed the whole thing in the trash. It smelled anyway...

Now I have started over with a different skein and will keep it where he can't reach it. :)

Good luck and blessings aplenty with your own New Year's Resolutions whatever they may be.
